Class Descriptions 

*Simply Yoga - A Level One class that is a wonderful focus on yoga basics.  This is a perfect class for beginners, those desiring to work on yoga basics, and for those returning to practice after an absence due to illness or injury.

*Meditation 101 - This is a course for all levels of meditators - whether you are just beginning a meditation/mindfulness practice or have been practicing, yet would like the added support of a group - a sangha - to keep your practice alive.  We will explore mindfulness techniques, physical positions (seated and otherwise), and offer several practice periods during each session.  This is a 60 minute class.

Bhakti Vinyasa Flow - A physical yoga class emphasizing connection with the Divine.

*Vinyasa Yoga - A class in which yoga flows from one pose to another in energizing sequences.

*Healthy Hips - Open and stretch tight hips in this class!

*Gentle Yoga - A restorative and rejuvenating class designed for all levels.  It is a nice complement to more vigorous Vinyasa classes, provides a good foundation for those just beginning a yoga practice.

*Vinyasa Slow Flow - Slow Flow has been designed to bridge the gap between a vinyasa class and a traditional slower moving Hatha yoga class. Slow Flow will work through moderately challenging poses at a slow, mindful, pace.

*Cardiyoga - This is a 60 minute class in which we use Vinyasa (Flow) Yoga to mimic the traditional cardio curve to increase cardio-respiratory fitness, strength, and flexibility.  The class will include a 5 minute centering, 10  minutes of warm-up exercises, 30 minutes of continuous flow, 10 minutes of stretching, and a 5 minute mindfulness/meditation period at the end.

*Spiritual Sangha - The Spiritual Service at The Yoga Pearl is a true Sangha - a group of like-minded individuals, coming together to experience a message, meditation, and music in a joyous and sacred atmosphere. The message is based on spiritual principles from many of the world's spiritual traditions, with the main focus being on yogic philosophy and New Thought principles. It is a spiritual service without the religious dogma. It is a break from worldly cares and you will leave feeling grounded and centered.  It is not a physical yoga class and you are encouraged to dress comfortably with shoes that can be easily slipped off to enter the main studio. Chairs are set up for your comfort. You are encouraged to stay afterward, enjoying tea and treats, while conversing with like-minded individuals. It is a perfect preamble to the specialty classes held on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. This service easily complements any religious tradition you already enjoy and is not meant to contradict any other religious beliefs.
